Thames Water commissioned IWS Pipeline Services to deliver the excavation and installation of a DN300 pressure sustaining valve, off an existing 42” cast iron trunk water main, within the grounds of Peckham Rye Common.
The 42” trunk main was situated in a grass verge area maintained by the Open Space Division of Southwalk Council. All private land entry agreements were co-ordinated by Thames Water Utilities. Additions to the landscape included access covers to the valve arrangements for future operation and maintenance.
Safety, as always, was of paramount importance on this project with close liaison between all parties involved in the project to ensure all hazards and risks were appropriately addressed and the works undertaken in a safe manner at all times.
